Skydiving:
Q: How long will my Skydive take?
Tandem = Plan for 1/2 day.
Q: What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing and trainers (running shoes).
Q: Are glasses and contact lenses okay?
Yes, we have special goggles to cater for you.
Q: What is the maximum weight?
Conditions apply for anyone 95kg and above.
Q: What is the minimum age to do a Skydive?
14 years for a Tandem in Australia. Anyone between the ages of 14 - 18 must have parental consent.
Q: How long does the skydive last?
There is 1 minute freefall at 14,000 feet then 5 to 7 minutes under the parachute.n I take my own camera with me?
Q: Can the camera person film more than one person?
No. The time/distance gap between exits preclude a camera person being able to film more than one student.
Q: What is freefall like?
There aren't any words to describe it. It is a sense of Weightlessness and Wind. There is no sense of falling or speed. You will not "leave your stomach behind" like a roller coaster. It will feel like you're floating in your back yard swimming pool, with a lot of wind hitting you.
Q: What if I chicken out?
Only about one in a thousand first timers totally chicken out. But if you want to jump or not is completely up to you, you are the customer, you don't have to jump. No, we will not push you. If you want to jump, it's the greatest thrill on this planet. If you don't want to, no problem. You're the Boss.
Q: Can I drink alcohol before the jump?
The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted before your skydive and we will not make exceptions to this rule. If you are using prescription medication you are probably O.K., BUT tell your instructor just to be safe. Don't come to the dropzone drunk or hung-over – you will be sent away. Besides, it just isn't considered 'good form' to hurl in the plane.
Q: What happens if the parachute doesn't open?
In the unlikely event that the main parachute doesn't open properly, there is a reserve parachute in the top of the container which is inspected and packed by a licenced APF parachute rigger.
Q: Will I be scared?
Maybe, and maybe not. You will definitely feel a surge of excitement and anticipation before the jump - which is a normal part of the experience. During the jump itself, you'll probably feel a thrill such as you've never experienced before - ENJOY IT!
